Abstract
Haider Mahmoud used the religious, historical and literary heritage as a means for the renewal of the modern poem. Hence, no one of his poems was empty of reference to that heritage.
This study focused on the world of Al-Saalik (Tramps), in three of his poems, through which he revealed his position towards life and society, and showed his poetic vision and life experience.
