Rhetorical Formation of the Artistic Image in Poems of al-Ṣama Bin ʾAbd Allah al-Qušayri

Abstract

This study aims at investigating the rhetorical formation of the artistic image in poems of al-Ṣama Bin ʾAbd Allah al-Qušayri. The study also aims to highlight how the poet implemented the artistic image in creating his poems, through which he expressed his emotions and feelings. The researcher examined the different rhetorical models of the artistic image, including: The analogous picture, Metaphorical Images, and the sign image (metonymy, synecdoche, and description).

The findings showed that the poet showed a high artistic ability in implementing the different models in his pomes, reflecting his deep human expertise.
