This study analysed the impact of syntactic repetition in analyzing the role of repetition in achieving textual cohesion in Nazik Al-Malaika's poetry by exploring its patterns and functions through the lens of text linguistics. It reflected several questions related to the intentionality of repetition and its contribution to constructing poetic imagery and intensifying meaning. This is, in addition, to discussing its psychological, rhythmic, semantic, and pragmatic dimensions.
The study adopted the descriptive-analytical methodology and focused on four main types of repetition, including phonemes, words, sentences, and rhetorical structures (interrogative, vocative, optative, and imperative). The results revealed that repetition in Nazik Al-Malaika’s poetry is used with precise artistic awareness, reproducing the depth of emotional experience and contributing to the reinforcement of meaning. The findings showed that repetition is implemented to attain the construction of poetic imagery, and achieve the coherence and cohesion of the text, and enrich its semantic and pragmatic dimensions. Moreover, repetition serves as a persuasive tool that influences the reader. The study also highlights the poet’s awareness of textual construction techniques and her ability to use repetition to break monotony and infuse vitality into the text
