Paths of the Contemporary Poetry Movement on Twitter: Muhammad al-Durrah Martyrdom Incident as an Example

Abstract

 

The study aims to demonstrate the semiotics of poetry movement on Twitter through an event commemorating the martyrdom of Muhammad al-Durrah in several paths in which the poetic text relates to the machine, in which the Twitter user in the first path with the poetic word employs the elements of complete multimedia, and the tweet model adopts a passage (part) based on the word, sound, photo and motion, with a link that opens the Tweet to run a text with the poet’s voice, accompanied by several photos related to the event of Muhammad al-Durrah. The second path is based on a poetic text supported by employing the musical instrument's medium and singing link, and several photos of the incident are also added to it. The third path deals with movement of (poetic text / image formation). As for the fourth path, it depends on the employment of the poetic word with the employment of (image / logo). In the last path, the study relies on analyzing a model based on the poetic word alone.

The study illuminates to achieve its objective with the semiotic approach that studies linguistic and non-linguistic signs, as it benefits from some mechanisms of contemporary reception theory. It was based on the choice of poetic models of several famous poets in the contemporary poetic scene that took care of this issue, and displayed their experiences on Twitter and hashtag Muhammad al-Durrah.

This study ended with explaining the role of Twitter technology in weaving paths in which the poetic and technical words intersect. The study also discussed these paths, and analyzed their semiotic aesthetics and dimensions.
