This study promotes the idea that the critic Youssef Khleif, in his critical works left over, was a critical model in modern Arab criticism by employing (Socialist realism) in the evaluation of art (literature). In all his writings, he followed the same approach, adhering to the same ideas in reading literary phenomena. Accordingly, this study will clarify this methodology in his compositions: “Wretch Poets in the Pre-Islamic Age” and “The Life of Poetry in Kufa”, “In Abbasid Poetry Towards a New Approach", and “Dhu Arrummah [The Man with a Piece of a Tattered Rope], the Poet of Love and Desert”. The study believes that Youssef Khleif in his publication of socialist realism while reading the literary text came from his belief that literature is the product of the reality movement. Also, art is a social datum related to the controversial relationship between the classes of society that are formed through the means adopted by society. The creative writer is the one who exemplifies, in his literature, an idea that he adheres to and defends through adopting the artistic image which is, in turn, (literature).
