This research dealt with a relatively recent topic, which is the protection of the electronic consumer under the Jordanian law, as this protection is an important legal issue imposed by the technical development taking place in the electronic environment and the increased interest in the electronic consumer, which has become the focus of electronic contracting. This is what the research aims at to ensure the availability of legal protection for this consumer under Jordanian law.
In general, we find that the Jordanian legislator did not set special provisions for consumer protection in electronic transactions, but at the same time he addressed consumer protection in general, through the Jordanian Consumer Protection Law.
The researcher recommends that in order to give effective civil protection to the electronic consumer, the Jordanian Consumer Protection Law should include new rules that are commensurate with the reality of electronic contracts and are completely different from those traditional rules that have become unable to keep pace with the development taking place in electronic commerce.
