ABSTRACT The Impact of Regional and Arab Changes on Jordanian-American Relations (2017-2020)

Abstract

This study aimes to identify the dimensions and components of Jordanian-USA relations, and the impact of regional and Arab events on this relationship during the period between (2017-2020). The focus in this study was on the specificity, dimensions and components of Jordanian-USA relations, especially the geostrategic, political, and economic dimensions. In the same context, the study focused on important aspects and changes in American foreign policy during the study period, which contributed to a tangible decline in these relations, the most prominent of these variables being the announcement of the American peace plan or what is known as the deal of the century, in addition to President Trump’s decision to transfer the American embassy to Jerusalem Recognizing it as the capital of Israel. However, the wisdom of King Abdullah II was able to stand firm in the face of these plans and prevent them from being implemented as planned, while maintaining these strategic relations between Jordan and USA to this day
