Flexible working hours in the public service: a comparative study between French law and Jordanian law

Abstract

The modern development in public administration requires the use of some of the prevailing work concepts in the private sector, including flexible work, which has become one of the basic matters for performing public services, especially in emergency situations. What facilitates flexible work in the public service is the development of means of communication that helps facilitate the task of the administration's work so that work can be performed from a place outside the framework of the places designated for official work.

 

This study came to show the extent of flexible work in the public service in French law and Jordanian law, as this study shows the concept of flexible work in the public service and the forms of flexible work, which are flexible working hours, part-time work, remote work, and shift work. The most important conclusion of the study is the need to activate the systems related to flexible work in the job by the administrative authorities and encourage employees to do this type of work by training and qualifying employees, and showing the benefits of this system and its impact on management and employees.
