Abstract

The study's problem is to identify the influence of the Christian Zionist movement—as a religious, intellectual current—on American policy during the Republican presidents' periods towards the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The study aimed to shed light on the Christian Zionist movement and identify its intellectual beliefs, and thus analyze and clarify its role in the trends of the American Republican Party towards the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and its developments by comparing the policies of former Republican presidents Ronald Reagan, George Bush Jr., and Donald Trump.

The study starts with a fundamental question: Did Christian Zionist thought contribute to influencing the policy of the American Republican Party during the administrations of Presidents Ronald Reagan, George Bush Jr., and Donald Trump in the direction of escalating the Palestinian-Israeli conflict?

The study used the comparative approach to analyze the role of Christian Zionist thought in influencing the political decision of the American Republican Party towards the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

The study reaches many results, most notably that it confirmed that Christian Zionist thought stemming from Biblical beliefs and prophecies had directly influenced the political decision of the American Republican Party towards escalating the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the decision of former Republican US President Donald Trump and his signing of a document Recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and moving the American embassy to it is the best evidence of this escalation.
