Abstract

This study aims to find out to what extent media students are aware of the concept of media education. In addition, it sought to know the main properties and challenges that face media literacy based on the descriptive survey method. Questionnaire was used as a data collection tool. Convenient sampling technique was used to select a sample of (240) students from media college to take part part in this research.

The results of this research are the following: Media literacy in Jordan basically targets students in both public and private schools, and the massive flow of information and news on a permanent basis is one of the most important challenges in spreading media education. In addition, the majority of the participants consider that media education is the method that takes place through teaching the adloecents, the youth and the society how to deal with the media and the resources of information.
