Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools

In light of the rapid development of artificial intelligence tools, the Jordanian Journal of Arabic Language and Its Literature adopts a clear policy governing their use in research preparation to preserve the originality of scholarly work and maintain researchers’ responsibility, as follows:

Compliance with COPE Guidelines

The journal adheres to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding the use of AI tools and emphasizes that such tools cannot be considered authors because they cannot assume full responsibility for published content.

Acceptable Use

AI tools may be used for supportive purposes such as language editing and improving writing quality, provided that they do not affect the core scientific content, results, or originality of the research.

Mandatory Disclosure

Researchers must explicitly disclose the use of AI tools in all stages of research preparation, including data collection, data analysis, image and graphic generation, and text drafting. Such disclosure should be included in the methodology section or in a dedicated section of the manuscript.

Full Scientific Responsibility

Researchers bear full responsibility for all contents of the manuscript, including sections prepared or enhanced using AI tools, ensuring the reliability of results and the validity of scientific interpretation.

AI Content Detection

Submitted manuscripts are screened using specialized tools to assess the extent of AI-generated content, and the AI-detection rate must not exceed 30%.

Unacceptable Use

Any manuscript containing excessive or unethical use of AI tools that compromises intellectual originality or scientific credibility will be rejected.
