Abstract

This study investigates Ibn Al-Zubayr Al-Garnatī's approach in selecting synonymous verb pairs through ‘Milaak Al-Taaweel.’ Ibn Al-Zubayr focussed on similar verses that included such verbs, showing why each verse was related to its verb. In this research, I have studied these verbs by presenting Ibn Al-Zubayr’s method in directing such verbs. My research began with a brief definition of Ibn Al-Zubayr and his book Milaak Al-Taaweel and then it was split into two basic sections. In the first section, I dealt with Ibn Al-Zubayr's approach in his moral guidance of the verbs with convergent meanings. In the second, I have mentioned the verbal guidance method with which the verbs were tackled. In doing this, I have investigated all the verbs which is mentioned in similar verses in Al-Milak. This study is based on an analytical and equilibrium approach.

Results have revealed that that Ibn al-Zubayr may find the difference between the meaning of the acts through the use of the Koran. It may also be unique to some verbs.
