Abstract

The research provides a semiotic critical study of the titles in Fadwa Toukan's Collection of Poems "I Found It". It is concerned with clarifying the connotation of the titles of the poems and their relationship with the texts and with the main title of the Collection of Poems under study.

The research showed that the connotation of the main title "I found it", which implies the feeling of joy in meeting and finding oneself appears in only six poems, while the titles of fifteen poems signify sadness, nostalgia, escaping from reality, and looking for freedom. In addition, there are five poems that express the feelings of loneliness and alienation, which are feelings that contrast completely with the feeling of joy in meeting oneself.
